Krishna Rajak, one of the accused in the murder of Trinamool councillor Babla Sarkar, has been arrested from Bihar. The arrest was made in a joint operation by the Bihar and district police, nearly four months after the killing.
Sarkar was shot dead on January 2. Following the incident, police identified Krishna Rajak and Bablu Yadav as prime suspects and announced a reward of ₹2 lakh each through social media posters to aid in their capture. Krishna Rajak was produced in Malda District Court after being brought from Bihar.
With Rajak’s arrest, the total number of people held in the case has reached eight. Bablu Yadav remains absconding, and the search for him continues. Police have not shared further operational details regarding the arrest.
